BENEFITS OF IN-SITU GOLD RECOVERY

WHAT IS IN-SITU GOLD RECOVERY?

In Situ Recovery (“ISR”) involves recovering minerals in place without long term negative impacts on the surface. The EnviroLeach solution is injected into the mineral deposit, which dissolves the minerals in a controlled process. The pregnant solution is then pumped to the surface for mineral extraction and solution regeneration. The solution is then recycled back into the deposit for further mineral recovery. Because no waste rock is produced and tailings ponds are not necessary, the degree of surface disturbance is significantly reduced and final reclamation is simplified.

ISR offers measurable cost savings. Capital expenditures, operating costs, and reclamation costs are drastically reduced. The EnviroLeach chemistry formulations make the ISR application for gold possible due to its neutral pH, the ability to operate at ambient temperature, and the ability to continuously recycle the chemistry.

ISR of minerals is a proven extraction method. It was pioneered as a process to recover uranium and is now being used extensively throughout the United States and internationally as a primary uranium recovery technique and as a potential process for developing several copper deposits.
